Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN)
To support the (Senior Nurse/Home Manager) within the Home/Unit in providing leadership to the care team and effective 24hr management of the Home within the available resources. The post holder will have a key responsibility for the quality of nursing assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation and associated care staff training issues to ensure that at all times residents receive an excellent standard of care
.

To actively supervise and monitor care practices, identifying and responding appropriately to the changing needs of residents to ensure that care needs are consistently met.

To undertake all appropriate aspects of nursing care required, including advanced clinical skills having gained the appropriate training and supervision.

To be fully aware of all agreed emergency procedures and be prepared to take a lead role in any acute or non-clinical emergency, in the absence of more senior staff or until specialist assistance arrives.

In the absence of a Senior Nurse or Home Manager, whilst on duty, to be responsible for the fabric and running of the Home, ensuring that there are sufficient staff to carry out all duties whilst ensuring the Home continues to provide a safe and secure environment for residents and staff alike, conducive to their general well being.

To be responsible for own health and safety and that of anybody else whom your acts or omissions may affect.
HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT
The post holder works under indirect supervision of the nurse in charge and undertakes task and duties delegated by the nurse in charge or management. They will work collaboratively with the general team to meet the needs of residents, following policy and procedures.

Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions

Assist in raising awareness of health and well-being, and how it can be promoted

Give accurate and appropriate information to residents and groups within own competence

Record information and activities undertaken with residents and carers in an accurate and timely fashion using manual or computer systems as appropriate

Maintain confidentiality or information relating to patients, relatives, staff and the practice

Take the necessary precautions when transmitting information

Respect the privacy, dignity, needs and beliefs of patients and carers
-
Understand basic legal and communication issues regarding child abuse, family violence, vulnerable adults etc.


HOME CARE ASSISTANT
To work in the Service Users home, enabling them to live their ‘best’ life, ensuring we always work providing dignity and respect. The majority of service users will have some form of physical disability or mental health issues such as Dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease. Some service users may also be receiving end of life care.
Home Care Assistants will cover Newcastle, Gateshead, Sundeland, Middlesbrough and surrounding areas supporting adults within their own home. Preferably you will hold a driving licence and have access to your own vehicle though this is not a necessity as long as you are able to attend local areas.
A home care assistant helps vulnerable people to live happily and independently in their own home, because of this it really is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding jobs you could do.
